Local Energy Agencies in Ireland


There are currently 12 local energy agencies in Ireland which are part of an EU network of nearly 180 regional and urban energy agencies. The aim of these agencies is to support the development of sustainable energy initiatives within their region. The agencies are established by their respective local authorities and are part funded under the EU SAVE programme and its precursor PERU...

Last April the Irish Energy Centre, in conjunction with Údarás Na Gaeltachta and the Galway Energy Agency, with the support of the EU SAVE II Program, organised a conference to provide the agencies with an opportunity to make each other aware of the projects they have pursued or wish to pursue as well as addressing critical issues necessary for the success of the agencies...

Local Energy Agencies Seminar, Jan. 29 & 30, Enniskillen.
To continue this process of shared information and communication the Centre is organising an all-Ireland workshop for the agencies and other interested parties in the Killyhevlin Hotel Conference Centre, Enniskillen on January 29 and 30. The assistance of the Department of Economic Development (NI) and WREAN also has to be acknowledged in the organisation of this event...
